Meshcore or Meshtastic First Radios¶
Many mesh radios come as kits and require assembly, but these are fully assembled radios that work well for someone who is just getting started.
These radios work great for both Meshcore and Meshtastic.
Wio Tracker L1 Pro¶
This device is simple to use and has great features (screen, gps, beeper, buttons, side charging port), the only downside is the RP-SMA antenna jack.
The antenna needs to be upgraded, so make sure you find the RP-SMA version of the gizont 17cm antenna.
Atlavox M1¶
This device is based on the RAK Wisblock, and can be configured with GPS and Weather sensors. This device is better for carying around because it has no buttons that can be accidentally pressed in your pocket or bag. The downside is the bottom charging port, which prevents the radio from charging while upright.
It can be configured at time of purchase to come with Meshcore pre-installed.
Be sure to configure it with the Gizont Whip Antenna upgrade!
